What is Anger?
Hypnotherapy is a very effective way of taking control of your anger issues.
There is a part of our brain that is solely in charge of our survival. It’s the primitive part of the brain and before we evolved into humans, it’s pretty much all we needed.
You probably know it as the Fight, Flight or Freeze part, and anger is the Fight. It was what our primitive ancestors needed in order to gain strength when they had to defend themselves against other tribes or wild animals. And we’ve now adapted that to our modern day symptoms of anger.
Since we evolved however, there is another part of the brain that rivals this primitive part and it’s what makes us human. It’s the cool-under-pressure, creative, innovative, problem solving part. It’s the boss. And it generally makes good, positive decisions. It’s the part that ideally, all of us should be operating out of, most of the time.
But we still obviously need the primitive part; there are times when feeling angry is, of course, absolutely appropriate.
However, waking up angry, or having constant low-level feelings of anger or reacting angrily when inappropriate is not ideal and can put added pressure on our relationships, our work, and our mental health. In turn, this then adds to an existing level of stress which often results in more eruptions of anger.
It can start a vicious circle.
Do I Need Anger Management Hypnotherapy?
It would be wise to seek hypnotherapy for anger management if your anger has led to any of the following:
- Your anger has led to violence
- Your anger has led to damaged goods and objects
- Your anger has led to common arguments with those you come across day-to-day
- Your anger has led to you breaking the law
- Your anger has led to you losing control and having a verbal outburst

Why Do I Have Anger Issues?
Each night, when we sleep, we re-run the events of the day and convert them from being a memory that starts off in the emotional / primitive part of the brain and it gets processed into the conscious part of the brain. So by the morning, whatever bothered us during the day, no longer bothers us as much and we have control over it.
However, when we have too much stuff to process, or we don’t get a good night’s sleep, all those emotional memories from the day don’t get a chance to be processed and so a backlog of stuff needing to be processed, occurs. And when this happens, the primitive part of our brain assumes authority and takes over.
